JENNIFER ANISTON has been named as the force behind a new state law in California, which will restrict the paparazzi in 2010 and beyond. Aniston's activism was instrumental in the success of Assembly Bill 524, which takes effect from Friday (01Jan10), according to Democrat and Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, who has revealed the actress' horror stories prompted her to fast track the legislation.

The new law allows for civil penalties against members of the paparazzi and media outlets that sell and buy unlawfully obtained photographs and video footage of people, including celebrities and their families, according to the Los Angeles Times. Bass tells the publication, she wrote the bill after Aniston and a group of celebrities she assembled helped her to understand just how bad the Los Angeles paparazzi problem had become. The actress tells the Times,

"There have to be some boundaries. When you have children in the car and the photographers are rushing you, it’s just absolutely out of control. "It’s become a public safety issue. Somebody’s going to die if we don’t do something."The measure was signed into law in October (09) by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Reporting from Sacramento - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't the only Hollywood celebrity shaping legislation in the state Capitol this past year. Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rodriguez and Sean Penn were among the A-listers who took on starring roles in crafting or promoting new laws.

When state lawmakers enacted a measure cracking down on the paparazzi, Aniston played a key part in shaping the legislation. Landmark legislation to improve the state's water supply was pushed through under pressure from a group of Latino farmers led by actor and comedian Rodriguez.

When tax incentives were passed aimed at keeping filmmakers in California, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau had promoted the cause. And Sean Penn stood front and center when gay rights legislation was introduced.

Hollywood celebrities have long cast themselves in activist roles on the national political stage: Oprah Winfrey and Matt Damon were among those who supported Barack Obama for president, while Jon Voight and Pat Boone backed GOP presidential candidate John McCain.

But recently some stars have become more visible in the state political arena, according to Ben Austin, a political consultant who has worked with actor/filmmaker Rob Reiner.

COURTENEY COX and Jennifer Aniston seem to be getting along well these days. They are spending quality time with each other. A 24th December get-together has become a yearly tradition for the duo. Cox’s husband David Arquette, and daughter Coco are also very fond of Aniston and they never miss going to their favorite restaurant in Los Angeles for dinner.

Aniston says; “I’ll be meeting up with my best friend Courteney and her husband and their daughter, Coco, who’s my goddaughter, for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. We’ve been doing it for the past few years at one of our favorite Beverly Hills steakhouses.”Aniston and former co-star Cox often meet up, and the get together count would surely increase lately as it’s the holiday season these days.

Golden Globe winners Jennifer Aniston, Mickey Rourke and Julia Roberts have joined the lineup of presenters for the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards, taking place Jan. 17. The show, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will be broadcast live by NBC from the Beverly Hilton.

They join previously announced Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, who will present the Cecil B. DeMille Award to Martin Scorsese. Roberts is also a nominee in the category of best performance by an actress in a musical or comedy for her work in "Duplicity."

Actress Jennifer Aniston is teaming up with British chef and TV star Jamie Oliver to write a cookbook. Aniston, 40, is known for her svelte physique and devotion to fitness, while Oliver, 34, is nicknamed The Naked Chef for specializing in fresh, organic cuisine. "Jen and Jamie have been bashing around ideas for ages," a source tells UK's Daily Star. "They like the idea of combining healthy eating with traditional family dinners."

Jennifer and Jamie first met when she reportedly invited him to Los Angeles to cook for her after seeing him on a TV food show. Oliver has written 12 cookbooks to date. “Jen loves throwing dinner parties for her mates and has dozens of personal recipes," says the source. "She’s hoping they can do a whole range of books.”

YOGA DEVOTEE

Aniston, a workout fanatic who does yoga, Pilates and runs, recently helped fitness trainer Mandy Ingber launch a yoga DVD called Yogalosophy.

"Jennifer Aniston is the poster child for health and wellness," said Ingber. "She's very natural. Who has a better body than Jennifer Aniston?"

FABULOUS AT 40

Indeed, few would disagree that Aniston has one of the most enviable bodies in Hollywood today. At 40, Jennifer looks lean and toned thanks to a healthy diet, running and lots of yoga.

Aniston, who typically does two hours of yoga every other day with her trainer, says the workout leans her muscles out and quiets her mind.

"You feel like you're having a therapy session," Jennifer told Us. In addition, Aniston says yoga has toned her muscles, lengthened her limbs and improved her posture. "My legs got leaner," she said. "My arms got strong.

Our foodie insider said: “Jen and Jamie have been bashing around ideas for ages. They like the idea of combining healthy eating with traditional family dinners.

One of the movies that generated plenty of media attention this year, albeit for reasons related more to the stars in it than for the production itself, is “The Bounty Hunter,” starring the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston and the always charming and occasionally threatening Gerard Butler. The good news is that fans now also get a chance to see what the hubbub was all about as the first trailer for it is out, as EW’s PopWatch confirms.

“The Bounty Hunter” is directed by Andy Tennant, who also made the delicious romantic comedy “Hitch” with Will Smith
a few years ago and, from the looks of the trailer, it will be a blast for fans of the genre. Take two exes, husband and wife, put them in a situation where handcuffs and a visit to the police is required, add some car chases and explosions, and, of course, the chemistry between the two protagonists, and we have an A-class romcom.

This is generally how most movie critics have welcomed the release of this trailer, though there are some who see many similarities between “The Bounty Hunter” and Alicia Silverstone’s “Excess Baggage” (1997). Still, fans believe that Butler and Aniston have what it takes to make of this film a wonderful experience and, at the same time, to take it above the “average” threshold, both in terms of acting and of doing action scenes.

The trailer for the latest Jennifer Aniston film, The Bounty Hunter has hit the web. It’s the actresses 1,854th romantic comedy, co-stars Gerard Butler, and is directed by Andy Tennant, the same guy who brought you the Will Smith flick Hitch. After watching this trailer you’ll quickly realize there’s nothing romantic or comedic about this film…

The film centers on a bounty hunter (Butler) who’s hired to track down a woman who happens to be his ex-wife, as played by Jennifer Aniston. Aniston’s character is unaware that her ex wants to throw her in jail, which is where the hilarity and not so funny humor is supposed to ensue. After starring in The Ugly Truth, Butler continues to slide down a slippery slope of crappy movies that under perform at the box office. The Bounty Hunter doesn’t look like a step in the right direction for either of these actors. At no point during this trailer did I laugh or even crack a smile. The entertainment value of this thing is nonexistent. See for yourself if The Bounty Hunter is all its cracked up to be.

The Bounty Hunter seems kind of like Gigli meets The Mexican. I’m sure that’s not what they were going for. But in the movie’s first trailer it’s Jennifer Aniston arrested and transported by her ex-husband the bounty hunter. There’s a lot of fighting and screaming and Jennifer Aniston never seems to change her dress. Eventually someone gets punched in the nuts. The end.

I miss the days when Gerard Butler went shirtless. Things just haven’t been the same since he discovered collars and buttons. Still, at least he isn’t paired with Katherine Heigl. Whatever this, thing, is Jennifer Aniston is a step up. Watch the first trailer for The Bounty Hunter below or in HD on Yahoo.

Is he looking for his own Angelina Jolie?  Or Jennifer Aniston?  Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has said that he's a 'hot boy' and wants to be like Brad Pitt. The 24-year-old plays the role of Nate in the hit sitcom and he said he knows his good looks got him the role on the show.

He said: "I'm not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why [Gossip Girl]'s popular and part of the reason [why] people want to see it is to be like: 'Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy'"

However, he isn't opposed to that tag and said: "That's all fine and good. It is what it is." He added that he'd like to model his career after other stars such as Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise. More celebrity...Johnny Depp finds it difficult to accept the awards he wins for acting. Depp, aka Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, was speaking after receiving a career achievement award at the Bahamas International Film Festival.
