The glamorous Hollywood pair have been on the public circuit this week, publicising their rom-com The Bounty Hunter.
They caught attention in London, cuddling up in the cold and doing nothing to dispel rumours that they had coupled up on the set of the film and later on at the Golden Globes.
And they were recently together in Mexico, where Aniston celebrated her birthday with a bunch of friends.
But now, Butler is at pains to ensure everyone knows they're just friends, saying he doesn't mind it all the fuss, as it deflects all the attention away from his real conquests.
"We have a great time together," he is quoted in the Daily Mail, "but here's the thing. While they're accusing me of being with Jennifer, I've probably been off somewhere else doing some damage with someone else."The star of 300 and the big-screen version of Phantom of the Opera, 40, insists he is far less of a ladies' man than magazines would have his fans believe, and has had only two relationships in the five years he has been living in Hollywood. "I'm nowhere near as naughty as I used to be, partly because I did a lot of that when I was drinking."However, he admitted, "I'm certainly no angel. There's no smoke without fire."
